 Benkady
is a band of percussions and African music which brings together
European and African musicians. Benkady means “Good agreement” and
the group is formed around the Burkinabe drumer: Idrissa Ouattara,
which comes from Diolasso Sore. Although the origin of the rhythms
Mandingoes comes first of all from Mali and Guinea, Burkina Faso has
also proudly its tradition of djembe and especially it is the cradle
of invaluable and brilliant balaphon pentatonic. Idrissa combines
the power and the musical quality through its interpretation with
djembe and it is to be considered among the African djembefolas
which currently live in Switzerland.
Benkady organizes courses and training courses of djembe in
French-speaking Switzerland and in Burkina Faso. |
